The Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation moved into a new office in the Village Hall (formerly the Village Green Sales Office) across Center street from the Arts Center land in front of the Chester Library, and celebrated the occasion on April 30 with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
In a 2004 bond referendum approved the sale of bonds beginning in 2010 to provide half of the cost of the center, with the other half to be raised through private donations to the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation. Since the arts center is so convenient to the residents of Chester Village Green, the CVG News hopes that our residents will be especially generous in their financial support. Send contributions to: Center for the Arts Foundation, 11801 Center St., Chester, VA 23831. Phone: 748-5555.
Plans call for an Arts Center of 33,00 square feet, with a theatre seating 450 - 500, with a lobby also serving as an art gallery, and multipurpose rooms for rehearsals. sculptures, music, art, and children's art. The site, already purchased, includes space for parking.
