BAZAAR on the Green

Le Petit Bazaar starts at 8 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 1. on the Village Green. Set-up is at 7 a.m. Bring arts & crafts, antiques, or anything small that you wish to sell. There is no charge but donations will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the Center for the Arts Foundation.

NORTH/SOUTH BRANNER STATION PARKWAY CANCELLED

Word has been received from HH Hunt and Dorothy Jaeckle that HH Hunt has ended their commitment to build Branner Station and the off-site roads.

We are awaiting further confirmation of this information through a press release from HH Hunt. From the information we gathered, it is due in part to the current real estate market slowdown, the financial situation with the banks, and the unwillingness of one of the land owners to extend options on the property. The work of BARD and the Chester Community Association (CCA) probably played a role in this decision. Be aware, though, this does not mean that Hunt or another developer cannot step in and start the project again, or a similar project, etc. The BARD core group plans to continue monitoring this matter as well as taking up some other important issues that affect us.
