CVG POLICE REPORTS: 2007, AND 2008 1ST QUARTER

For easier reading, you can enlarge the two police reports below by clicking on them.

The Police Dept. provides the following disclaimer for these statistics:
"We may not geographically define the complex identically to that [with] which you may be accustomed. Hence, there is no guarantee that all of these offenses occurred in the area you consider Chester Village Green. Also, please realize that the existence of an offense report does not necessarily indicate an arrest for that offense. Circumstances that initially required that an offense report be completed may have changed after the initial investigation."

Compare the above statistics for CVG with annual stats for the whole county, below:

WHERE, OH WHERE HAS OUR FOUNTAIN GONE???

Above, the fountain working normally.

Several weeks ago, the fountain in our Village pond stopped working. The fountain not only has aesthetic value, but also practical value. It helps aerate the water and stop the growth of algae.
Recently, repairs were started, but are now stalled, waiting for shipment of parts.
This photo shows the fountain pump awaiting parts.

(Click on map to enlarge it.)

May 9, Lisa Coffee will be attending a meeting with Transportation. Supervisor, Dorothy Jaeckle, and VDOT (state) will also be in attendance. This meeting will focus on the new North/South parkway which will impact Chester Village Green. If you have any comments/ suggestions/ questions you would like to see addressed, please email Lisa by May 7th at
bcandlc@comcast.net.

Also, please continue to press county transportation for maps on the proposed
roadways; don't settle for the one from the 80's. Also, continue to offer your board of supervisor rep (Dorothy Jaekle, see her email address in lower left side panel) feedback in the form of questions/concerns/comments concerning the proposed roadways. The more she hears the more willing she will be to work with the public.

The Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation moved into a new office in the Village Hall (formerly the Village Green Sales Office) across Center street from the Arts Center land in front of the Chester Library, and celebrated the occasion on April 30 with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
In a 2004 bond referendum approved the sale of bonds beginning in 2010 to provide half of the cost of the center, with the other half to be raised through private donations to the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation. Since the arts center is so convenient to the residents of Chester Village Green, the CVG News hopes that our residents will be especially generous in their financial support. Send contributions to: Center for the Arts Foundation, 11801 Center St., Chester, VA 23831. Phone: 748-5555.

Plans call for an Arts Center of 33,00 square feet, with a theatre seating 450 - 500, with a lobby also serving as an art gallery, and multipurpose rooms for rehearsals. sculptures, music, art, and children's art. The site, already purchased, includes space for parking.
