These photos were taken on May 27. The top photo is a close-up of the algae.Our HOA President, Howard Corey, tells us: "We are waiting to hear from the county concerning the certification of the pond before we treat the pond. We don't want to treat and then have the county drain it."

I believe that there are safe algicides that can be used. They should be available in a floating system that just needs to thrown into the pond.
Any way, its worth exploring.
