UPDATE: REZONING OF ADJACENT PROPERTY BEFORE PLANNING COMMISSION

When it met on Tuesday, August 19, the Chesterfield County Planning Commission considered the following as part of its heavy work load:


In the Bermuda District, Emerson-Roper Companies, LLC requests rezoning Agricultural (A) to Community Business (C-3) with Conditional Use to permit multifamily use. The property consists of five acres and could accommodate as many as 60 apartment units. The property lies adjacent to the Chester Village Green development on Chester Village Drive across from Village Creek Drive.

Result: Request was deferred to the September Planning Commission meeting.

This is the property that Emerson bought on March 11. (See photo-map above; this property is outlined in red. Enlarge the map by clicking on it.) As the map shows, the new apartments will become part of the existing apartments.

ASSAULT, ROBBERY ON CENTRE ST., CHESTER VILLAGE GREEN

Centre St., Chester Village Green, Tues., Aug. 2, late at night: while walking at this location, the victim was grabbed from behind and assaulted by the suspects, who demanded his property. During the assault, the victim’s wallet was taken. The suspects ran off after being observed by a witness. (From the Village News, 8-13-08.)

HOW DO WE GET RID OF THE GEESE?

These beautiful Canada Geese were grazing happily on the green by the lake on 8-11-08. They are a beautiful nuisance, because they generously leave their "calling cards" all over this commons area --and these "calling cards" are messy and unsanitary for our children and pets playing in the grass, and for us, too.

Our problem: how do we "goose" the geese humanely and safely, so that they will leave our area, at least until next year. If you know of a way to do this, send your suggestion to our Home Owners Asso. (HOA) Board by clicking on the link below:
