Senior Citizen Academy Scheduled

There is still time to enroll in the Chesterfield County Police Department’s Senior Citizen Academy, which begins on Tuesday, May 11. Students will meet on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Clover Hill Police Facility, 2730 Hicks Road.


The 10-week class focuses on crime-related and public-safety issues that can impact the senior community. Department members lead classes about police department functions, crime prevention methods, personal safety, emergency communications, identity theft and fraud, volunteerism, special response teams, investigations and the Crime Solvers program.



The program is free for citizens 55 years old or older who reside, work or own a business in Chesterfield or belong to a county civic organization. Class size is limited to 25 students. Applications will be accepted through April 16 and may be downloaded at www.chesterfield.gov/police.aspx?id=2496.
